Fun Facts About the US Flag

The red, white and blue colors have important meanings: Red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
Flag on the Moon, In July 1969, Neil Armstrong placed the first U.S. flag on the moon, as part of the Apollo 11 mission.
The flag as we know it now was designed by a high school student, 17-year-old, Robert G. Heft, of Lancaster, Ohio.
The flag should be displayed from sunrise to sunset, except during inclement weather. It may be displayed 24 hours a day as long as it’s “properly illuminated” while it’s dark out.
There are more stars than stripes.
